About Chicago Angels Foundation

The CHICAGO ANGELS FOUNDATION a Chicago, Illinois based non profit outreach organization established in 2018. The primary goal of the organization is to target young men ages 7-22 to use sports as an outreach tool to

  • Reduce gang violence
  • Reduce crime in the Chicago area
  • Reduce high school dropout rate
  • Increase college attendance
  • Establish future professionals to contribute to a thriving society

The mission is “to be a resource for every young person in the greater Chicago area that wants to turn their lives around and get on the right track using sports and education.”

The Chicago Angels Foundation has been active in the community, reaching our targeted audience through camps, clinics, tournaments and leagues in the Chicago area. This allows us to spread our positive message to the youth, and put them in the presence of successful people that have achieved personal goals using sports. CAF is establishing a track record of bringing quality sports instruction and educational information to the young people in the areas that need it the most.

Reaching Youth Through Sports

The CAF currently owns and manages four semi professional mens basketball teams. These teams reach 60 young men in the area. The primary goals of the semi pro teams are:

  • to help young men with college eligibility continue training/playing at a high level while getting additional exposure to colleges that will consider them for scholarship opportunities,
  • to help young men with no remaining college eligibility have a development base while connecting them to resources to explore professional opportunities overseas.

The CAF has cooperated with the Chicago Bulls to bring the semi pro teams to the UNITED CENTER to play warm up games prior to the Bulls. This provided a unique opportunity to showcase the CAF brand and mission as well as the talent of the players intended to benefit from the CAF mission

As of May 2024, CAF has been successful in assisting 10 young men with professional opportunities overseas, and about 12 young men with scholarship opportunities using sports.

The Future

The Chicago Angels Foundation has a vision that will require the support and contributions from every individual, corporation, and grant outlet that shares the belief that young people are the future, and that we can reach people through sports programs. Our supporters must believe in the fundamental truth that a great portion of young, inner city, minority people can be engage through the common interests in sports and games.

With your support, we aim to leverage this interest with THE PURPOSE LEAGUE. THE PURPOSE LEAGUE is a new basketball league designed by CAF to reach 100 young people in the Chicago Area. The league has the purpose of being “a second chance” league, reaching that demographic of at risk yet talented athletes that need one more opportunity at using their talents to create a better life.

We have all heard too many stories about someone who “could’ve been” or “should’ve been”, but due to some life circumstance, that person was unable to use their talents to change their lives. THE PURPOSE LEAGUE will be the bridge and connector for those type of young people.
